It's UK Coffee Week!

UK Coffee Week (10-16 April) is an initiative taking place in thousands of coffee shops across Britain to raise money for Project Waterfall.

A great cup of coffee sets you up for the day ahead. Whether you are at work or at home, nothing beats that first drink of the day. We are a nation of coffee lovers, so why not take the opportunity to enjoy your favourite drink while helping a great cause?

Worldwide, we drink a phenomenal amount of coffee – over 500 billion cups each year – and each one of these cups is a chance to make a real difference. Every single donation from UK Coffee Week will go straight to Project Waterfall.

What is Project Waterfall?

You can’t make a cup of coffee without fresh water – and in the UK we are lucky enough to be able to be able to turn on the tap, fill up the kettle with fresh water and make a fresh cup of coffee whenever we want. This is not the case in many parts of the world.

It is impossible to lead a healthy life without fresh water. Project Waterfall believes that fresh and clean drinking water is a basic human right to which every single person in the world should have access.

Project Waterfall is an initiative developed by the registered charity the Allegra Foundation whose mission is to bring clean and fresh water to the coffee growing communities in areas which are not as fortunate as us here in Britain to have access to fresh water on a daily basis.

UK Coffee Week 2016 was a fantastic success. Donations were used to fund two projects in Ethiopia in conjunction with Water Aid as well as two water projects in orphanages in Addis Ababa in partnership with Splash.

How you can join in

Here at the Office Coffee Company, we offer top notch coffee and coffee machine rental with a choice of bean-to-cup office machines. We are happy to say that for every case of coffee ordered during UK Coffee Week, we will donate £1 which will go straight to Project Waterfall.

Want to do your bit and give a little back? Simply give us a call today and let the power of your cup of coffee make a real difference to the communities which grow our coffee.
